ABOUT VALENTINA
Hailing from the great kingdom of New Jersey, Valentina grew up doing any type of performing she could get her hands on, and eventually found her niche in musical theater. Not a single regional or school theater was safe from her 16-bar cut of “Not for the Life of Me”. Included in some of her credits from her younger days are training at the Paper Mill Playhouse Summer Conservatory and being nominated for two Montclair Theater Night awards for Best Leading Actress in a Musical (Something Rotten and The Drowsy Chaperone). She became interested in comedy right before college and began writing sketch by taking online courses at Second City.
Valentina currently attends and wanders around NYU, studying Drama at Tisch in the Experimental Theater Wing and the Strasburg Institute. She is a member of NYU’s premier sketch group Hammerkatz, performing and writing monthly sketch shows both on and off campus. She is also the co-founder of the Tisch Collaborative Alliance, a group that creates collaborative opportunities for Tisch students of different mediums. And, if that doesn’t sound cool, they almost always have snacks at their meetings. Through NYU, she has been able to perform in original works, and continuing creating her own pieces. While on the topic of her own work, most recently, Valentina produced, wrote and performed in a mini-comedic play at the Brooklyn Comedy Collective (located in Brooklyn, NY).
At the end of the live-long day, her ultimate goal is to bring joy to people, which she has found through comedy and experimental performance. There is nothing better than invoking laughter and wonder! Please, stay a while!
